Volunteering with the Petaluma Wetlands Alliance is a fun, fulfilling way to give back to the community while helping protect and restore our important wetlands —one of Petaluma’s most valuable natural resources—Shollenberger Park, Alman Marsh, Gray’s Marsh, and Ellis Creek. Volunteers play a vital role in preserving local wetland habitats, learning about and supporting native wildlife, educating local 3rd graders, and helping the public connect with and appreciate this important ecosystem.
For those looking to get involved, the Petaluma Wetlands Alliance will hold its 2027 Volunteer Training on five consecutive Thursday mornings—January 7, 14, 21, 28, and February 4, 2027—from 9:00 a.m. to noon each session. Training will take place at the Lucchesi Community Center, 320 N. McDowell Boulevard, Petaluma.
