Clark Miller of the Argus Courier published his article today on the Native Plant Nursery that John Shribbs, current PWA President, created at Casa Grande High School while he was a teacher there and now taken over by STRAW, Students and Teachers Restoring a Watershed, a unit of Pt. Blue. See this article online:
STRAW is currently planting native grasses and herbs on the southern bank of the dike facing ECWRF, Ellis Creek Water Recycling Facility.
STRAW is also now working with ReLeaf Petaluma, a new local nonprofit that John is working, to plant native trees in Petaluma. Oak seedlings will be started at the nursery to develop container trees for planting in the future.
