There is one tree in Ellis Creek just east of pond D that is the home to nesting Great Blue Heron, Great Egrets and Double- Crested Cormorants.
The birds nest on the far side of that tree to avoid the wind from the north so the public is not able to see the many nests in it. Last year, there were 30 Cormorants nesting there and, so far, this year, there are about 19 and increasing.
